Creativity comes to life

Don't you just love it when you find the perfect vendor that can bring your vision to life? Recently, one of my couples (shout out to Ashley and Cort- stay tuned for their sure to be gorgeous wedding at the St. Regis this July) enlisted the services of Stacia from Serendipity Designs to create a custom Save the Date. Ashley had seen a vintage post card somewhere along her wedding magazine travels, and knew exactly how she wanted to work that into a unique Save the Date for her Big Day. The result? See for yourself; it is truly fantastic (and one-of-a-kind).

One of the things I pride myself on is being available to my fabulous couples as not only their Consultant, but their friend in the (sometimes crazy) wedding world. I consider it an honor and my pleasure to share in their Big Day's; so I only think it's fair to share mine with you. The pictures below are from my recent wedding at the wonderful Surf and Sand Resort (a big shout out to Kevin and Renee Derek of Derek Photography). Enjoy!

More than 'just flowers'

With flowers, a little can go a long way.

Many Brides assume that you have to spend thousands of dollars to have 'amazing' flowers- and this is absolutely not the case. Most florists are willing to work within a set budget; as long as you understand that some flower types do cost more than others. I've seen gorgeous centerpieces made out of only a few well placed blooms in groups of small, attractive vases. The sky literally is the limit!

It's all in the details

You'll probably hear me say this a lot: 'It's all in the details'. But really, it's no secret that it's the little things that make every wedding unique and special. The easiest way to make your Big Day memorable, is to infuse it with details that are 'you'. Here's a little inspiration:

Green with Envy

Have you considered having your wedding, or even just the reception, at a golf course? Many Brides contact me looking for help to find their perfect venue. I'm not surprised to find out that all too often, they haven't even considered any of the beautiful courses here in Orange County. Of course, they've thought of the usual suspects- the fabulous hotels, posh restaurants, and gorgeous wedding and special event venues. But golf course- not even on the radar!

Golf courses are great because they come with gorgeous scenery built in- and make for lovely outdoor ceremonies. Many of the clubs have reception spaces unlike any hotel- with lots of windows, and unique elements throughout.

I could make a list that goes on for days, but a few of my favorites include Arroyo Trabuco in Mission Viejo, Coyote Hills in Fullerton, and Strawberry Farms in Irvine. Desiree and Eddie were married at Strawberry Farms- and held their reception in their charming big red barn on the course. Talk about a wedding to remember! Who can forget a big red barn?

Christine + Trevor at the Historic Cottage, San Clemente

I know the word 'hidden gem' is tossed around a lot in the wedding industry, but the Historic Cottage at San Clemente defines the term. I had never heard of the venue until working with Christine and Trevor (such a fun couple!) on their wedding at the end of July. The pictures speak for themselves; it is a one-of-a-kind location, right on the beach in the State Park, minus the ocean front price and pretentiousness. AND you get to dance the night away under the stars, with the waves crashing in the distance. Who could ask for more? Enjoy these lovely photos, courtesy of the ever-so-talented Sarah K. Chen.
