Regina + Richard at Marvimon House, LA

To say that I have been waiting on pins and needles for Sarah K. Chen's images of Regina and Richard's wedding is putting it lightly! So when Sarah posted a blog earlier today, I was beyond thrilled. You see, this wedding was filled with an overwhelming amount of love and joy as the couple's many friends and family celebrated their marriage; I knew the emotions were all going to be captured flawlessly by Sarah (who in my mind, is photography's equivalent of a goddess). Not to mention the fact that our Bride and Groom are an incredibly handsome couple, and that their complete love and devotion for each other is so apparent that it brings a smile to my face just thinking about them. It's the weddings of couples like Regina and Richard that leave me inspired and filled with love and a renewed sense of complete happiness in being able to do what I do for a living.

A special thanks to the following fabulous team:
Sarah K. Chen, Photographer
Jonilyn, who second shot with Sarah
Ricky with Props Productions, who kept the dance floor PACKED!
Julian with the Kitchen (the place smelled AMAZING all night due to his team's tasty creations)
Commerce Flowers
King's Hawaiian Cakes
Jeff, site manager of Marvimon

Here are some of my favorites of the day's incredible images; be sure and head over to Sarah's blog for many more amazing pictures, as well as a slideshow for your viewing pleasure.

The couple shared their first dance to Ben Folds 'The Luckiest', so it was only fitting that they included a reference on the cover of their program. Leave it to Sarah to turn that into a truly unique ring shot.

We started out at the Standard- such an awesome hotel!

Gotta love a sassy pair of Stuart Weitzman's

'The Reveal'

The first dance; if you didn't listen to the song 'The Luckiest' above, do it now. I guarantee you will tear up- I sure did as they danced together, completely unaware of anyone else in the room, so in love. Sigh...

Rehearsal luncheon, anyone?

I was lucky enough to attend the rehearsal luncheon this afternoon for Regina and Richard (getting married tomorrow). This is the first time I have had a client do a luncheon, and it was such a great idea!

If you for some reason cannot have the rehearsal and dinner two days before the wedding (which I always recommend as it ensures a day of rest in between the dinner and the wedding- sometimes the rehearsal dinner can be as big a party as the wedding!), then a luncheon is a great alternative. That way you (and your guests) will be able to enjoy time with each other, and still be able to go to bed at a good time and wake up the next day feeling rested. It also gives you a chance to relax or run any last minute errands in the evening. Sounds ideal, right?

A luncheon can also be a cost saving alternative to dinner if you are at all on a budget. Lunch prices across the board are lower than dinner prices, and your guests may not run up as big a bar tab in the afternoon as opposed to the evening (of coure, there are always exceptions to this). Either way, a luncheon is great to consider when planning your rehearsal celebration.

Vanessa + Mark, to-be-wed

A few months back, Jonilyn headed out with Vanessa and Mark for their engagement shoot. I love how their pictures turned out, not only because they are an absolutely adorable couple and their locations were outside of the ordinary, but because Vanessa has amazing taste in shoes as well (and you know I am a sucker for cute shoes!). You'll see more of these two after their May wedding at the Madison that I am thrilled to be a part of.

See what I mean- aren't these shoes adorable?!?

Jean + Chris, Revisited

Sarah K. Chen was gracious enough to pass along a disc of Jean and Chris' wedding pictures for me to hang onto. Of course I had to feature them on my site; check 'em out- they are in the "Winter Wonderland" gallery. Sarah's blog teasers were just the tip of the ice berg! Here are some of my never seen before favorites:

With the rain coming and going, I knew we just had to get an umbrella shot. How cute is the polka dot umbrella I got at Target? I loved it so much, I bought the white and black versions!

If the shoe fits, part two

How I never knew about Betsey Johnson's amazing shoe line is beyond me. Of course I was well aware of her funky and fresh clothing line; she is always pushing the envelope, daring women to be just a little sexier and just a little more outrageous. It appears as if her shoes do the exact same thing; tell me you wouldn't feel so fierce with these hiding under your classic white wedding gown:

And the best part; here is what all the shoes look like on the bottom- adorable!

Fun with palettes

Lately I have been in awe of all the unique color palettes that Brides and other event creators are coming up with; really, anything goes these days. Your favorite colors are bright pink and bright yellow, you say? Chances are, you can absolutely find a way to 'make it work' (I just love Tim Gunn!). It's all about balancing the tones and including the colors in your details wisely. Here are some palettes that would look great at a spring or summer wedding (or any wedding, for that matter!):

Cornflower Blue, Light Coral, and Pure White

Pale Violet Red, Thistle, and Sea Green

Midnight Blue, Hot Pink, and Antique White
