I had no idea what to expect as I drove along the winding (and realllllly high up!) highway leading into Lake Arrowhead. I mean, I knew there was a lake, but beyond that all I had heard was promises from Susan that I would absolutely love her hometown. She was beyond right! Lake Arrowhead is so relaxing, charming, and full of that 'je ne sais quoi' that immediately makes you take in a deep breath as you arrive and just let go. It was the perfect setting for Susan and Joe's wedding, as they are two incredibly genuine, sweet, fun-loving and easygoing people. They put so much thought into all the details of their day, and it really showed. From the adorable bird's nests that the ring bearers carried down the aisle to the Grand Exit via jet boat, the day was full of unique elements and surprises that delighted the guests. Sarah K. Chen was the natural fit to photograph the day, and here is a preview of what she captured.

Susan's Paloma Blanca gown looked like it was made just for her; and the girls' J. Crew dresses were so fun and flirty.
I adored all of Susan's DIY details- her step-mom put together the absolutely gorgeous candle centerpieces. So perfect!
